About Our Collaboration

Out Youth is a community-based nonprofit serving Central Texas LGBTQIA+ (lesbian/gay/bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning, intersex, and asexual) youth and allies.  Their mission is to promote the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social well-being of sexual and gender minority youth so that they can openly and safely explore and affirm their identities.

SOGI: Health and Rights is a research laboratory focusing on the role of sexual orientation and gender identity in human health, development and rights.  Based in the UT-Austin’s Department of Human Development and Family Sciences, SOGI’s research includes attention to the unique vulnerabilities and strengths of LGBTQ people across the lifespan, with many studies focusing on adolescents and healthy development.

Equality Texas is a statewide political advocacy organization working to secure equality for LGBTQ Texans.
